10. Almost Paralyzed
Director William Friedkin took the filming of The Exorcist quite seriously. When actress Ellen Burstyn was cast for the role, she had no clue what was about to happen.
One day on the eerie set, Friedkin ordered a stuntman to violently jerk Burstyn around by a wire. Burstyn cried out in pain, begging the stuntman to stop. Friedkin told her it was all right and that he would tone down the scene. In reality, the demented director whispered to the stuntman to pull harder. As a result, Burstyn was flung across the room like a ragdoll and landed on her coccyx bone. The blunt force resulted in permanent spinal damage. The director never stopped rolling the film.
You’ll vividly remember the next horror flick!
